The Newton Board of Alderman voted last night to increase residential property taxes for 2013 by 3.69%.  This means a roughly $280 tax increase for you next year.  The increase is a result of the number of high-value residential homes in Newton, which has increased the median home value to $685,900.  The 2013 residential tax rate will be $11.49 per thousand.
